.. is taking over!
You may have seen my previous post about my zero waste bathroom, and my reasoning for trying to minimise my waste. It’s something we should all try to do in any little way we can.
But I’ve become obsessed! All the zero waste bits and bobs you can get are so damn cute. And I’m a sucker for anything cute that helps the environment!
Recently I found some super cute reusable straws from Eco Straws and they were perfect! Now I can make more of a conscious effort to carry one in my bag when I go out so I can refuse the straw!
I couldn’t decide between the glass or the bamboo straws, so I bought a pack of both. I figured that if I ever have friends over I may need the extra straws and you can never have too many back ups, right? Either way, whatever my excuses are, the money goes to a great cause because 1p from every straw sold is donated to Sea Shepherd, the worlds leading (and most badass) direct action ocean conservation organisation.
Another trip to Lush was in order too, because I have finally run out of shower gel. Which means it’s time to try out their bars of soap as a package-free replacement. I really wanted one that was soft, but lathered up too, so I went for the ‘Respect Your Elders’ soap, which smells insanely good.
I had also ran out of deodorant, and as a last minute impulse buy, I decided to try a solid deodorant bar from Lush too. I’m sceptical, I wont lie. But I’m also very intrigued. I have no idea how I’ll get on with it, but it’s worth a try. I bought the TEO Deodorant and it does smell divine, I just hope it keeps me smelling divine in the hot kitchen at work! The assistant gave me a sample of the ‘Dirty’ toothy tabs for me to try before I commit to buying some when my toothpaste runs out. Another reason I love Lush, they like you try before you buy! Which is always handy, especially if you’re about to spend £5 on something you might not like/enjoy.
Are you doing anything to minimise your waste? I’d love to hear about it!
Peace & Love, Sian
